The Lexus Press Release from today highlights the evolving vehicle development culture and story behind the new Lexus LC 500 which provides a great behind-the-scenes look into Lexus vehicle development.  Great story and very inspiring!  Below is an excerpt…

Beyond its styling and impactful performance, the new LC 500 serves as a symbol of the achievement that can result from heightened collaboration between design and engineering groups, and their commitment to help overcome each others hurdles.  When Akio Toyoda challenged these development groups to produce this special car, it meant surpassing many manufacturing, design, material, and dynamic obstacles that could typically compromise a vehicle’s targets or design vision.”

The 2018 Lexus LC 500 is stunning but also promises to deliver the 2017 Lexus Multimedia package that will apparently feature an updated, faster and more flexible software that will enable future enhancements and a graphic user interface.

The 2018 Lexus LC 500 offers 467 horsepower, an impressive, newly-developed 10-speed automatic transmission and reported 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds.    The Lexus LC 500 will have bragging rights for introducing loads of exciting new technology including the first ever 10-speed automatic transmission in a luxury automobile as well as the new Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP tires.

Michelin’s global development team worked very closely with the Lexus team to develop a Pilot Super Sport that helps meet the high performance and safety needs of the Lexus LC 500,” said Thom Roach, vice president of original equipment marketing, Michelin North America.  “Owners will enjoy the peace of mind that Michelin run-flat technology offers without giving up the quiet cabin and comfortable ride that Lexus owners value.”
