Lexus GS Glossary
The 2016 Lexus GS is bold, sophisticated and full of new and enhanced features. Our Lexus GS Glossary lists- alphabetically– a few of the most notable features found on the 2016 Lexus GS…
Ambient Lighting. Adding intrigue to the design of the interior, available ambient lighting brightens or dims based on whether the vehicle is moving or parked with subtle thin strips of LED lighting that run along the lower edge of the interior trim on the dash and doors.
Braking System. Available thru the new Lexus Safety System+ package: should the system determine a frontal collision is imminent, it’s designed to automatically prepare Brake Assist* for increased brake force, is able to automatically begin braking before impact, and can even brake the vehicle to a stop at speeds above 6 mph. Brake Assist* helps provide additional braking boost in panic-stop scenarios. And Electronic Brakeforce Distribution modulates the amount of stopping power sent to the front and rear wheels, for enhanced control.
Climate Concierge. At the push of the Start button, the available Climate Concierge automatically monitors the temperature of the front-seat climate zones and adjusts not just the ventilation system, but also the temperature of the front seats and heated steering wheel (if equipped) individually, so that both zones achieve their preset level of comfort as quickly as possible.
Driver Attention Monitor. Made possible by a camera mounted on the steering column to monitor the driver’s face and eyelids; it then uses the width of the upper and lower lines of the eyes to calculate the position of the driver’s eyelids. If the system detects the driver not looking directly ahead for a few seconds or more, and if an obstacle is detected ahead, the system alerts the driver with a warning beep and flashing “BRAKE!” message on the MID.
Enform Service Connect. Offers peace of mind and convenience by alerting the Lexus owner and servicing dealer. Enform Service Connect saves you time by telling the service team which items need to be addressed before you pull onto the drive.
F SPORT. F SPORT styling, 16-way power sport driver’s seat, high-performance F SPORT brakes and more.
GS line-up. The GS model line-up now includes the GS200t. The highly efficient 2.0-liter, in-line four-cylinder, twin-scroll-turbocharged engine makes an entrance with 241 horsepower. Nice!
Heads Up Display (HUD). The available full-color Heads-Up Display can project key information about your audio, speed, current gear and RPM onto the windshield. It can also project an ECO indicator to help you drive in the most fuel-efficient way possible. Display information can be adjusted to suit the driver.
Instrumentation. Delightful and eye-catching instrumentation throughout the new Lexus GS including the LFA-inspired digital tachometer that’s exclusive to the F SPORT models and the new color MID on all GS models.
Jamie’s favorite. Enough said.
MarK Levinson Sound. The 17-speaker, 835-watt Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound Audio System features GreenEdge™ speaker technology that allows twice the output of conventional speakers, while midrange Unity™ drivers help re-create a sensation of openness. By significantly widening the dispersion of sound, a larger “sweet spot” is created, enveloping every passenger in three-dimensional sound that rivals the finest home-audio systems.
Luxury Package. 18-way power-adjustable front seats, Lexus Memory System, three-zone automatic climate control, wood-grain steering wheel, semi-aniline leather, rear door sunshades and much more!
Multi-Information Display or MID. The full-color LCD multi-information display within the gauge cluster allows you to quickly read the data you need to achieve optimum performance. Readouts include performance data such as drive mode, gear position and odometer information. Additionally, this in-dash display offers multimedia linkage so that you can view incoming calls, current song titles and more.
Navigation. The GS navigation system is more than just a flat map: it encompasses 3D bird’s-eye view, tollbooth guidance, traffic event list, realistic road sign displays, low fuel light-linked fuel station display, and predictive traffic with suggested detour.
Options. The 2016 Lexus GS offers a multitude of options including 4 different GS model options alone. We’ve even listed a few of our favorite options in this post…
Power Trunk. Now available on most/all 2016 Lexus GS sedans built and available at North Park Lexus Dominion! The power trunk open/close feature is one feature that truly spoils the GS owner.
Quality. Quality materials including Semi-Aniline leather. This extremely soft leather is dyed all the way through, unlike leathers with conventional surface dyes. A higher grade of leather must be used since imperfections cannot be hidden.
enform Remote. We’re making this one work since it is one of the most convenient features found on the Lexus GS. Lexus Enform Remote offers endless opportunities to connect with your vehicle- all from the palm of your hand.
SmartAccess. Standard on all new Lexus, we often take this feature for granted….not today! SmartAccess is our pick for best “S” feature on the Lexus GS.
Tire Pressure Monitor System. Keeps you safe, enhances fuel efficiency, tire life- the list of benefits provided by the tire pressure monitor system is a long one…
U-V Reducing Glass. UV-reducing glass dramatically reduces the amount of heat- and sunburn-causing ultraviolet rays that penetrate the windows.
VGRS. This system can alternate between faster and slower steering ratios, depending on vehicle speed and input from the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) system, to enhance maneuverability and stability.
Wheels. Lots of options- all great looking!
X, Y & Z are being left for our readers to fill in. Let us know which features make your list!
