The ABC's of Lexus

Everyone knows their ABC’s, but do you know the ABC’s of Lexus?  Learn the Lexus ABC’s brought to you by North Park Lexus at Dominion…

Ambient Lighting

Subtle thin strips of LED lighting run along the lower edge of the interior trim on the dash and doors. Ambient lighting is included in the design of several new Lexus models and will brighten or dim based on whether the vehicle is moving or parked.

Brake Hold

Holds wheel cylinder pressure at all four wheels to keep vehicle stopped. Brake hold keeps your vehicle in place and prevents you from rolling forward or backward. So the next time you are in traffic or stopped at a red light, press the Brake Hold button and give your foot a rest!

Cornering Lamps

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) has all the functions of regular cruise control, but ads distance pacing capability. The driver uses a switch to choose the desired pacing distance: short, medium or long. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control helps to maximize fuel economy while highway driving, prevents “speed creep”, prevents annoying “rubber banding” of speed and may reduce driver fatigue on long trips.

Torque Vectoring Differential

A torque-vectoring differential continuously adjusts the torque at each rear wheel to suit the driving conditions.
Unlike traction control, torque vectoring shifts torque without the use of wheel braking or the reducing of engine power. Unlike a limited-slip differential (LSD), torque vectoring uses electronic control to anticipate and respond to torque needs, rather than relying on after-the-fact torque transfer once a wheel has already lost grip. Additionally, a TVD can operate with a closed throttle (as when entering a turn) by vectoring deceleration force, something a LSD cannot do. The torque-vectoring differential electronics are integrated into the vehicle’s VDIM system, ensuring that all the vehicle’s electronic drive systems are working in cooperation.
